The Lucky Illegal Alien

I’ve been at it again. I’ve been talking to illegal aliens in order to get material to write about. It’s actually a very easy way to avoid writer’s block.

So, I’ll introduce you to “Juan”. He’s currently trying to raise money to pay off a bond that he posted after an arrest.

Juan was arrested for driving while intoxicated, commonly known in Texas as a DWI. Juan was driving while intoxicated at twice the legal limit.

He was also speeding, probably unbeknownst to him, and therefore pulled over by law enforcement. Juan was also charged with driving without a driver’s license.

Juan was taken to the county jail. Juan lives in a county that observes the law, and the county jail rightly informed ICE of Juan’s illegal immigration status.

ICE then executed an immigration detainer. A detainer is the way that ICE orders a county jail to not release an inmate.

It’s an effective partnership and beneficial for both. The county rids itself of law violating illegal aliens, and ICE gets an easy apprehension of a deportable alien.

ICE executed the detainer by picking up Juan from the jail; after his initial appearance before a judge regarding his DWI.

However, ICE then took Juan to the office and proceeded to process him and then released him! They should have processed him, and then flown him to his native Honduras on the next available flight!

I don’t blame ICE because they have all but been defunded by this administration. I’m certain their reason for not deporting was because there are no funds or flights available to get Juan out of the country.

This is yet one more way that Alejandro Mayorkas keeps his open borders machine going. Mayorkas allows them in, they commit crimes, and they are allowed to stay.

Whenever law is not enforced, there is fallout. The county that arrested and charged the illegal alien had every reasonable expectation that Juan would no longer be a problem when ICE took custody. The county thinks Juan is in Honduras!

However, Juan was released and not deported. Juan is right back in the county. He is back in the county who happened to drop all charges! Why, you ask?  The county thinks Juan is deported!

This illegal alien will not pay one dime toward any citation! Juan doesn’t have a speeding ticket, a ticket for driving without a driver’s license, and nothing to show for a DWI! Juan is free in every sense of the word.

The only reason Juan has debt is because he owes the illegal alien friend or friends that paid the bond. I call all this a slap on the wrist.

The county is not exactly innocent in this entire scenario. The county didn’t want to spend any unnecessary funds (court, detention, administrative costs). It was easier to pass the buck and get rid of him through ICE.

You, Joe taxpayer, go drink a lot of beers, speed down the road, and get pulled over for a DWI. Let me know how that works out for you. I think we all know the results. We would not be as lucky as Juan.

Juan will undoubtedly have some celebratory drinks to enjoy his freedom from deportation, citations, or any accountability. Juan is feeling lucky.

The county who dropped all charges, will probably realize that Juan “returned”. They have no clue that he never left! They will encounter Juan again.

God forbid that the next time the county encounters Juan, it’s because he killed innocent county residents. County residents that the law is supposed to protect.

The county will blame ICE, ICE will blame funding, and Mayorkas will blame everyone but himself. No one, however, will blame Juan! No one ever blames Juan or the millions like him because they are lucky.

Maybe, after Juan kills someone, he’ll finally get a deportation out of it. The victim or victims are not so lucky. The grieving family are not so lucky.

Juan will go to Honduras, drink a few beers with friends and family, and decide whether he wants to try his luck once again. Juan will come back through the wide open door that we call a border. I think he’s feeling lucky.
