I was scrolling through Facebook this weekend and came across a Southern Border Patrol Sector’s post. The post was singing the praises of their first therapy dog. The dog was a beautiful white poodle.

The grand majority of comments were positive. However, the people making the comments are people supportive of the Border Patrol and its mission. The people making the comments mean well but they are unknowingly supporting Mayorkas and the gaslighting of misinformation.

There are several questions that come to mind. Why are therapy animals required after 100 years of this great agency? Does this take away funds from putting out more sniffing dogs? If agents aren’t going out to the field because of processing, why the therapy dogs?

These three questions set up my main question, why are agents in need of therapy? The Facebook post went on to say that this therapy animal would help agents with morale and resiliency.

If you are one of those that thinks that these dogs are a step in the right direction, then I’m afraid you’ve fallen victim to the gaslighting propaganda of the Mayorkas misinformation machine.

Don’t get me wrong; these dogs are cute and would indeed be therapeutic in many instances. However, you’re too focused on the symptoms and not the root cause of the whole reason a therapy dog is required.

Mayorkas and all his sycophants within the Border Patrol leadership pretend to care about agents by advertising on social media the ol’ “Look at me and how much I care” routine.

If the powers that be really cared they’d start with the truth! The truth is that agents morale is down because of bad policies! Agents are being asked to violate their oath that they took to uphold the U.S. Constitution!

Agents are being told to ignore existing law, which is ingrained in the Immigration and Nationality Act.

Agents are being told to stay quiet and perform these unlawful policy orders or risk termination from employment. Agents have to choose between their livelihood, which supports their families, or violating their conscience.

When this happens, agents lose morale. When a low morale persists for a long period, agents lose resilience. The government, namely Mayorkas, use the word resilience. The word they don’t want to use is suicide.

Agents retiring or resigning in record numbers  doesn’t raise any red flags for these people! Record number of agent suicides doesn’t sound any alarms for these people! Instead, they roll out a poodle to silence their conscience.

With all due respect, a poodle will not keep an agent from putting his or her weapon in their mouths and pulling the trigger!

The answer is simple, tell the truth, change your policies, and quit mandating unlawful orders! Allow agents to fulfill their oath, enforce the law in the books, and to realize the Border Patrol mission! Hell, we’ll even keep the poodle around!
