Pope Francis has called for a “more welcoming” attitude toward migrants around the world! That’s right folks, “Do as I say, not as I do!”
It’s easy to demand for nations around the world to allow illegal aliens to pour in when the Vatican is completely enclosed by a security wall. The only way to enter is through designated security gates.
The United States has security gates; they are called ports of entry (Bridges). However, the United States and other countries do not have the luxury of having a wall to completely secure all areas in between, like the Vatican. In fact, the Vatican is the only sovereign jurisdiction that can claim this distinction.
However, all you other peasants better be more welcoming. The few security gates at the Vatican that do exist and allow people to come in are locked throughout the night. Whether the gates are open or closed, there are heavily armed Swiss guards manning the posts.
Mind you, it was just last week the Pope demanded we all be more welcoming. Today, it was reported by Breitbart News that the Vatican has announced stiffer penalties for illegal entries into the sovereign pontificate.
A whopping 10-25 thousand euros is the fine if you transgress these sacred borders! If that’s not enough, you could face 1-5 years of jail time. So, you peasants better not cross illegally into the Vatican.
I don’t blame the Vatican for their strong immigration policy. The Vatican possesses priceless treasures, paintings, and materials enamored in precious metals and gems.
However, aren’t our children just as precious? We don’t possess material belongings like the Vatican but what’s ours is of value to us, at least. The Pope made it clear that we peasants need to build bridges not walls. We need to be more welcoming.
Jesus had a thing or two to say about people worrying about a speck in someone’s eye. The concern should be the beam in your own eye!
